Money and abundance
Money and abundance goes hand in hand for a lot of people. Simply upon hearing the word one will automatically associate the state of having excess, only to money. This is because money, more often than not, is the driving force behind everything in the material life. It allows you to live in the best homes to be surrounded by the best furniture. It allows you to fill your life up with entertainment through countless television channels on a flat screen TV of cinematic proportions. It allows you to wear the best clothes, to look the best you can and gives you the freedom to travel and incorporate new experiences into your life. But behind all of that, it usually comes an incessant drive for money, into which aspects of greed and lack of integrity is inherent.
The drive for money and abundance often means that a more spiritual side of life is neglected. It is easy to be blinded by the quest for material things, and when it comes down to real life emotions and experiences, there is often a feeling on not quite being fulfilled. There comes certain emptiness because life has been filled up with ephemeral things, usually in order to fill the emotional gaps in one’s life. This is not enough substance to satiate the spiritual side of us, and there is usually a time in everyone’s life when they will feel a pang of their self awareness coming through, and wonder why they simply strive for more things to fill their life up when it is not really making them happy.
In fact the reverse process can do wonders for re-awakening the spiritual side of oneself. Letting go the need for material things will start to fill you up in other ways. Money and abundance are not uniquely conjoined. There can be an abundance of love, of faith, of charity, of happiness and joy to replace all of the material things in one’s life. It is about fulfilling the true nature of your essence, of getting in touch with your spiritual side by becoming self aware, of looking, feeling and understanding what lies behind the heavy mindset. Life is often led by conditioned mind patterns which need to be broken in order to see the very essence of true nature.
Money and abundance can be a wonderful thing in one’s life if used correctly. It should open doors to become even more charitable and generous. There is nothing wrong with being plentiful and having a wonderfully healthy bank balance. But as many teaching attest to, perhaps it should not come at the expense of neglecting fellow man, nor of seeking true happiness, that of the abundance which lies beyond money.
